The first step in grasping the concept? Understanding that our skin’s surface tone is the color you’d describe yourself as having (ivory, light, medium, tan, dark, etc.) Your skin’s undertone is the color underneath the surface. You can have the same skin color as someone, but a different undertone, which are broken down like this, the undertone of your skin determines what color we use to achieve the perfect choice, no one wants to waste money buying the wrong products
Cool (pink, red or bluish undertones)
Warm (yellow, peachy, golden undertones)
Neutral (a mix of warm and cool undertones)
2 What cover you like? the choices are vast from sheer to full coverage, in the summer or holiday season you can wear a lighter cover foundation like a BB cream or tinted moisturizer to achieve a even flawless look, Just remember if you are over teen or 20’s this does not mean you have to cover everything with a full coverage foundation, remember less is more.
3,My skin is dry and I use a tinted moisture balm (Bobbi Brown) this achieves a Dewey hydrated and fresh (not greasy) looking skin, its perfect for me with a natural finish, you do not need to moisture the skin first and contains spf 25.
4,Do not to buy what your friend has in her makeup bag because it looks nice on, her skin will probably be different from you and shades differ massively, there are hundreds of shades of foundation to suit all skin tones.
5,Try before you buy always, your skin will differ in seasons due to weathers, I would advise to purchase 2 a year if not more to suit the changes in your skin, if you are still unsure ask for a sample and wear it before you buy it. purchase once your happy with it. if you purchase online do not guess the shade it would be almost impossible to choose unless you know the right one.
Bye for now
